These common symptoms are caused by the fight or flight response system which releases stress hormones into the body. The system was essential for the survival of primitive man who often found himself face-to-face with a wild animal, however, it is not at all appropriate for modern everyday situations such as
- Public speaking
- Swimming
- Travelling by plane
- Using a lift
Yet whenever we allow ourselves to become anxious this same surge of stress hormones is released and experienced by many as a panic attack. In an attempt to avoid such an experience again we find ourselves avoiding situations or worrying excessively about them to the point where we become so fearful of them that we develop a phobia.
Hypnotherapy helps you to learn to relax and diffuse panic and anxiety with the realisation that you can cope with any situation. From the first session you begin to learn techniques to
